Markus Riebe

Markus Riebe (* 1955 in Gmunden ) is an Austrian art teacher and computer artist .

Live and act

He completed a teaching degree at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz . The artist has lived and worked in Gallneukirchen since 1986 , where he set up a studio for computer-aided art and digital media . From 1978 to 1997 he taught art and craft education at the Europagymnasium Auhof and until 2002 in teacher training at the Federal Education College in Linz and at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz. From 1997 to 2017 he was a specialist inspector for art education , craft education and creative design at the state school board for Upper Austria .

He oversaw several museum education projects and publications for well-known institutions such as Kunsthistorisches Museum , Vienna, Künstlerhaus Wien , Upper Austrian State Museums , Ars Electronica Center , Linz, OK Center for Contemporary Art , Roemer and Pelizaeus Museum Hildesheim .

In 2005/2006 he acted as art buying curator for the city of Linz and was a member of the Upper Austrian Provincial Cultural Advisory Board from 2006 to 2014. The artist is a member of the Upper Austrian Art Association , the professional association of Upper Austria's visual artists and a founding member of the artist group "℅: K - Institute for Art Initiatives".
