Markus Scheibel (born October 30, 1964 in Schönebeck (Elbe) ) is a former German football referee .

Life

Markus Scheibel began his sporting career as a referee in 1986 at BSG Traktor Kleinmühlingen / Zens and moved to TSG Calbe in 1994 . Markus Scheibel has been working as an assistant referee for the DFB since 1993 . He completed over 253 appearances for the DFB in the Bundesliga , the 2nd Bundesliga and in the DFB Cup .

From 1998 to 2006 he acted as a FIFA assistant referee and played in more than 86 games ( UEFA Cup , UEFA Champions League and international matches ) in Europe , Asia and Africa .

In the summer of 2008 he had to end his referee career for health reasons and was passed by the DFB. After the end of his active career, he was responsible for training and promoting young referees in the Saxony-Anhalt Football Association (FSA). In 2012 he took over the chairmanship of the referees committee of the FSA.

From April 27, 2012 to February 26, 2016, Markus Scheibel was President of the Salzland Football Association.
