Marlise Nicolaysen

Marlise Nicolaysen (born November 19, 1909 in Rendsburg ; † May 27, 1991 ; alternative spelling: Marliese Nicolaysen) was a German housewife, women's politician and member of the Hamburg Parliament for the FDP .

First years

Marlise Nicolaysen passed her exams as a handicraft teacher in 1928. In 1933 she graduated as a trade teacher in Potsdam in the subjects of handicrafts , drawing and tailoring . Then she worked in factory welfare until 1937. In 1938 she taught at the secondary school in Hamburg-Blankenese for some time .

Nicolaysen was married and had two children. After the end of the war , she took on tasks in various committees in the social and youth sector, was elected as lay judge and as chairwoman of the voluntary welfare service in Blankenese. She pursued her interest in women's politics as a member of various women's associations.

FDP

In 1946 Nicolaysen joined the FDP. From 1946 to 1961 she was a deputy for her party in the social services department, and later a member of the administrative committees of several authorities. In her capacity as chairwoman of the FDP regional women’s group, she was a member of the FDP regional executive committee and the executive committee of the Hamburg women's organizations working group.

In 1966 she was elected as a member of the Hamburg parliament until 1970. Her work there focused on consumer issues and women's policy.
