Martín Cuevas (born January 14, 1992 in Salto ) is a Uruguayan tennis player .

Career

Martín Cuevas, younger brother of tennis player Pablo Cuevas , mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far he has celebrated nine double titles on the ITF Future Tour. On the ATP Challenger Tour, he won the doubles tournament in Montevideo twice (2013 and 2014).

Martín Cuevas has played for the Uruguayan Davis Cup team since 2010 , for which he has played in seven matches since then; he came to a balance of 1: 8 in singles and 0: 2 in doubles. He was also part of the Uruguayan squad at the 2010 South American Games in Medellín . In 2011 he took part in the Pan American Games in both singles and doubles .

Awards

As part of the honors of the best Uruguayan athletes from 2009 to 2010 ( Deportista del Año ), he was named the best junior athlete of the year 2009 as well as the best junior athlete of the year on March 28, 2011 in the Teatro Solís of the Comité Olímpico Uruguayo Awarded in the tennis division in 2010 .
