Marte Maaland Eberson (born December 12, 1987 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian fusion musician ( keyboards , composition ) who became known in avant-pop projects such as Machine Birds , COKKO and Highasakite .

Eberson is the daughter of guitarist Jon Eberson . She received formal musical training in the music program at Foss videregående skole and Sund Folkehøgskole . Then she studied in the jazz program of the Grieg Academy in Bergen, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree.

Eberson won the Jazz i skten with the band Lugom Trio , the second place in the Urørt finals 2011 with the electronica duo Machine Birds , which released several singles and an EP. The project Morning Has Occurred around Natalie Sandtorv won the Jazz i skten 2012. In 2012 she was awarded the Sildajazzprisen . She was also a member of the indie band Highasakite until 2018 . With this band she recorded the albums Silent Treatment and Camp Echo , for which the band received the Spellemann Prize as “Pop Group of the Year” in 2014 and 2016 .

In 2015 she released the synth-pop album Mad Boy under her name . She has been part of Sjur Miljeteig's band since 2014 . With Natalie Sandtorv she was in the trio COKKO ( The Dance Upon My Grave ). In recent years she has also worked in the band Eberson Funk Ensemble with her father, Pål Thowsen , Sigurd Hole and Kim Erik Pedersen ( Do the Dance ). The album Ripples (2019) was created with Husmo HAV . She also accompanied Hedvig Mollestad on their album Ekhidna .
