Marthi Pritzker-Ehrlich

Marthi Pritzker-Ehrlich (born September 23, 1944 in Zurich as Martha Luise Ehrlich ; † April 9, 1998 in Aarau ) was a Swiss historian .

Life

Pritzker-Ehrlich was born as the daughter of Kurt Ehrlich, a lawyer, and Eva Ehrlich-Mittler into a Judeo-Christian family. She grew up in a large family in rural Kilchberg and had a happy childhood that came to an abrupt end at the age of twelve. Four out of eight family members died from illness and accidents. 1964-1975 studies at the University of Zurich; 1981 PhD in history from the University of Zurich . She then worked for ten years as a high school teacher at the old canton school in Aarau before becoming a freelance historian devoting herself to the topics of migration and social violence. The family archive of the Pritzker-Ehrlichs, which she has compiled scientifically and divided into three parts, is located in the Archive for Contemporary History. She also wrote radio features.

From 1970 until her death in 1998 she was married to Andreas Pritzker .
