Martin Yves Angha-Lötscher (born January 22, 1994 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player .

Career

Martin Angha was born in Zurich, his mother is Swiss and his father comes from the Congo. He started playing football at the Grasshopper Club Zurich , but at the age of nine he went to the FC Zurich Football Academy . At a youth tournament in Switzerland in 2007 he played with his team against the youth team of Arsenal FC . He then received an invitation to a trial training session from the traditional English club. The Londoners said they wanted to sign him. It was not until the winter break of the 2009/10 season that he moved to the youth academy of Arsenal FC when he was 16. In the spring of 2010 he had his first appearances for the U-21 team of the club in the Premier Reserve League . The following year he could not really make friends and it was only towards the end of the season that he had his first full game time. In return, he made the breakthrough in the Gunners' junior team the following year and was the only player to play in all 22 games of the season.

The then 18-year-old already had a contract this year that was also valid for the professional Arsenal team, but his first appearance in the first team wasn't until September 26, 2012 in the League Cup against Coventry City . A little later, on December 4, 2012, he was even allowed to play in the final minutes of the UEFA Champions League match against Olympiacos Piraeus . In the Premier League , however, he did not get a train and the season with the U-21 team was not quite as successful as the year before.

Since Martin Angha's contract expired at the end of the 2012/13 season, he was able to transfer free of charge. He decided to move because he saw no immediate chance of regular professional assignments in London. At the beginning of April 2013, Angha signed a four-year contract with Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg until June 30, 2017. In his first season he was regularly in the professional squad from the fifth day of the game and on September 21, 2013 he made a short appearance in the final minutes in the 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund . After the change of coach a month later, he was no longer considered for the rest of the first half of the season in a difficult situation for the club and instead played several times in the second team. At the beginning of the second half of the season he was back on the bench - also because of injury-related failures on the defensive. His first real Bundesliga appearance was on February 8, 2014, when he came on as a substitute for the seriously injured Timothy Chandler in the right-back position after just ten minutes in the match against Bayern Munich . Twelve more games followed by the end of the season.

After the descent of the club he belonged in the first three games of the second division season 2014/15 squad, was an unused substitute. In the first round of the DFB Cup, he played his last game in the dress of the Franks. Shortly before the end of the summer transfer period, he signed a three-year contract with league competitor TSV 1860 Munich on August 30th . On September 14, 2014, he made his debut for the Lions in a 2-1 away win against FC St. Pauli .

After only one season at sixty , Angha moved to the Swiss first division club FC St. Gallen . After Angha spent two seasons at FC St. Gallen, he moved to FC Sion in exchange for Nicolas Lüchinger .

National team

Martin Angha was already a candidate for the Swiss junior teams in his last years in Zurich. In 2009 he played four times for the U-16 national team, including two against Germany, and scored his first goal in the national shirt with a penalty against Liechtenstein. In the following years in England he was regularly appointed to the respective teams of his year and played 37 junior national games from 2009 to 2016. In all national teams he wore the captain's armband at times, most recently in the U-19.
