Martin Bauer (born November 11, 1975 in Erding ) is a German cabaret artist, author and producer.

Life

Martin Bauer comes from a family of musicians in Erding; he is the brother of the percussionist Rudi Bauer, the brother of the double bass player Stephan Bauer (Niederbayerische Philharmonie) and the uncle of the jazz pianist and composer Andreas Begert.

Bauer completed an apprenticeship as a sound engineer at the SAE Institute in Munich in 1997 and studied media technology in Mittweida until 2002 , where he qualified as a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) graduated. During this time he started his first journalistic steps as a reporter and presenter at the student radio station Radio Novum (today: 99drei Radio Mittweida) and as a TV presenter in the youth format "Propeller" at the Mittweida University.

Bauer then returned to Bavaria and took a traineeship at the radio station Antenne Bayern , where he could also be heard as a news anchor, stock market reporter and reporter from 2001 to 2003. After a short stay in 2004 as a producer at MDR Jump in Halle , Bauer went to radio station Bayern3 in 2004 as a producer and author . From 2004 to 2007, Bauer completed a postgraduate course in "Information and Communication Science" at the University of Applied Science Mittweida , which he completed as a Master of Arts . His master's thesis from "Ipod to Iradio - Podcasting as a harbinger of individualized radio" is considered a standard work in the podcast scene.

From 2007 to 2015 Bauer produced a podcast and video blog for the 10-day “Sinnflut” cultural festival in Erding. In spring 2009 he and the author Nicolas Wachter produced the radio play Walpurgis Night , which was self-distributed in October 2009. In autumn 2007, Bauer donated a kidney to his brother. Since then he has also been running a website on the subject of live kidney donation . Bauer has been a lecturer in radio production studies at Mittweida University since 2002. Since autumn 2008 he has been a workshop lecturer for the music journalism course at the University of Music and Theater in Munich , he also teaches at the Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists in Munich in the field of "online video". Bauer has been a producer at the radio station Bayern 1 since 2019 .

Cabaret & Comedy

Bauer has been working as a comedy writer, speaker and producer for various radio stations since 1999. From 2006 to 2008 he was responsible for the comedy series "Bavaria for Beginners" for the radio station Bayern 3. In 2008 he produced the comedy series "Wiki-Peter" also on Bayern 3. In this series he also worked as a speaker. From 2006 to 2007 his weekly satirical podcast "Ein Leben in Erding" was published , which was awarded the German Podcast Award in 2007 in Cologne. From 2010 to 2011 he produced the satirical podcast "Talk in der Taverne" together with the Chemnitz journalist and author Christoph Stelzner . This was also broadcast on the radio stations Detector.fm and Joke FM . In 2012 Stelzner & Bauer stood for the first time with the cabaret format "Talk in der Taverne" and their first satirical program "Oral acrobatics with happy ending" on various cabaret stages, which was nominated for numerous cabaret awards. Her second comedy program "Saxon Machine & Sweet Mustard - the Saxon-Bavarian Satire Show" celebrated its premiere in 2015.

Since 2017, Bauer has also been active as a music cabaret artist and comedian under the artist name Bewie Bauer . In 2019 he played his first full-length solo program "A teenager turns 45 - now it's gonna be g'wamped" . In 2020 he achieved with his song "Whoever blaring the loudest is heard!" the semifinals of the ORF Radio FM4 protest song contest.
