Martin Cern

Martin Cern (actually Gerd Helmut Dörken ; born July 3, 1928 in Gevelsberg ; † December 25, 2011 in Hagen ) was a German writer and businessman.

Life

Born in Gevelsberg in 1928, he was called up as an air force helper during high school in 1944. After the end of the war he graduated from grammar school and attended various language schools and the vocational school from 1946 to 1950. After a stay abroad in South Africa in 1951, he worked from 1952 to 1978 as an industrial clerk and authorized signatory, and from 1979 to 1993 as a freelance sales representative in Gevelsberg.

From 1977 he was a member of the Authors' Circle Ruhr-Mark , from 1996 as 2nd chairman.

2011: Alfred Müller Felsenburg Prize for upright literature, together with Kirsten Niesler
