Martin Dorn

Martin Dorn (born May 8, 1935 in Herrenberg ; † May 29, 2013 ) was a German economist and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Martin Dorn was born the son of a Protestant pastor. After graduating from high school, he first completed an apprenticeship in a bank. He then studied economics at the universities in Frankfurt , Erlangen and Bonn . In 1962 he graduated from Erlangen University with a degree in economics, then worked as a commercial clerk and in 1968, also in Erlangen, became a Dr. rer. pole. PhD (dissertation: On the problem of a common economic and growth policy of the European Economic Community ).

Dorn joined the CDU and was from October 10, 1975, when he replaced Renate Hellwig , a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg until 1984 . In the state elections in 1976 and 1980 he won a direct mandate in the constituency of Stuttgart III . In addition to his parliamentary activities, he was president of the Baden-Württemberg Home and Folk Care Working Group, chairman of the supervisory board of the non-profit housing association for employees of the police and the city of Stuttgart and chairman of the working group of the Baden-Württemberg home days .

Martin Dorn was married to Gertrud Karpp since 1964 and has four children.
