Martin Estelmann

Martin Estelmann (born May 17, 1961 in Landau in the Palatinate ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Social Court .

Life

Martin Estelmann spent his childhood and youth in Landau in the Palatinate. After two years of service as a temporary soldier , he studied law at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken . He passed the first state examination in law in 1988, the second in 1991 after successfully completing his legal traineeship .

From September 1991 to January 1993 Estelmann was research assistant at the University of Freiburg : where he in 1993 with a thesis on "an intersection of industrial relations law and corporate law Legally independent social institutions" doctorate was.

Since February 1993, Estelmann has worked in the Saxon social justice system, namely at the social courts in Dresden and Leipzig . During this time he was seconded to the Federal Social Court in 1994, to the Saxon State Social Court in 1996/1997 and to the Federal Constitutional Court from November 1997 to December 2000 .

At the beginning of 2000 Martin Estelmann was appointed judge at the Saxon State Social Court. In September 2004 he became the presiding judge at the regional social court. Since May 2006 he has been Vice President of the Saxon State Social Court.

With effect from June 1, 2011, Estelmann was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court, where he is responsible in the first Senate for cases from statutory health insurance .

Martin Estelmann is married and has two sons.
