Martin Flach (* mid-15th century in Küttolsheim near Strasbourg; † November 26, 1500 in Strasbourg ) was a Strasbourg printer .

Life

Flach initially worked as an assistant to Johannes Mentelin and Adolf Rusch in Strasbourg.

He opened his own printing house in 1487 and acquired Strasbourg civil rights on November 31, 1472.

The prints before 1487, which are ascribed to him, come from Martin Flach (* between 1440 and 1445; † around 1510), with whom some historians confused.

In his life he has made around 70 prints, which mainly deal with theological topics. This includes preaching and writings by church fathers and teachers (e.g. Albertus Magnus , Augustinus , Bonaventure or Thomas Aquinas ).
