BW

Von Hattorf was the patron saint of the church in Schoningen , which also contains the family's hereditary burial : the foundation stone for today's baroque church building for the local St. Vitus Church was laid as early as 1736 under the patronage of Philipp von Hattorf. One of the two marble slabs on the side of the altar is a " memorial stone " for the church patron, who died in 1740, with the following inscription:

"Mr. Friedrich Martin von Hattorf auf Ober-Ure, royal Great Britain and electoral Braunschweig high-ordained senior magistrate in Uslar (born 1681 † 1740")
