Martin Geretschläger (born March 11, 1988 ) is a former Austrian grass skier . He started for the Elsbethen ski club and was a member of the A-team of the Austrian Ski Association .

Career

Geretschläger first took part in FIS races in 2004 . He achieved his best result of the season in the very first race when he finished 20th in the giant slalom of Maria Gugging . The next year his best result in FIS races was 15th in the giant slalom in Rettenbach . In July 2005 Geretschläger took part in the Junior World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě in the Czech Republic and was able to rank among the top 20 in all competitions. His best result was eleventh place in the Super-G. A year later he drove at the Junior World Championships 2006 in Horní Lhota u Ostravy in all races under the eighth fastest. He was sixth in the Super-G and at the same time with the Czech Jiří Fuchs seventh in the giant slalom. In the combination he also came in seventh and in slalom eighth.

In September 2006 Geretschläger took part in World Cup races for the first time in Forni di Sopra . He finished 25th in the two Super-Gs and 22nd in the giant slalom, making him 32nd overall in the 2006 season . In 2007 he started again exclusively in FIS races, in which he finished ninth in the slalom in Bad Goisern for the first time among the top ten, as well as in the Junior World Championship in Welschnofen , where he was tenth in the Super-G and 16th in the Super Combination was. At the beginning of the 2008 season he started again in a World Cup competition in the super combination of Rettenbach, but was disqualified after a goal error. His best result of the season in FIS races was 13th place in the Super-G of Traisen and at the Junior World Championship in 2008 he was eighth in the giant slalom and tenth in the Super-G. After 2008, Geretschläger did not take part in any more races.
