Martin Guddat

Martin Guddat (born July 31, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer , ministerial official and author.

Life

After graduating from high school, Guddat studied law at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Lausanne . After passing the first state examination in law , he completed his legal clerkship in Berlin and at the University of Applied Sciences in Speyer . In 1972 he was in the Department of Law at the University of Berlin with a thesis on the development of Strandungs-, breakage and arbitration clause in marine insurance to Dr. jur. PhD.

He then became a consultant at the Federal Office for Defense Technology and Procurement (BWB) in Koblenz. He later worked in the budget and armaments departments of the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) in Bonn. From 1982 to 1993 he was head of division at the Federal Chancellery in Bonn. He then became Vice President of the BWB. From 1996 he was head of the armaments department in the BMVg. In 1998 he was put into temporary retirement. He is a reserve officer (first lieutenant) in the Air Force .

Guddat published several military history works with the publisher ES Mittler & Sohn .
