Martin Joseph Mack
Martin Joseph von Mack (born February 19, 1805 at Neuhaus Castle near Igersheim , † September 24, 1885 in Ziegelbach, OA Waldsee) was a German Catholic theologian .
Life
Mack studied philosophy and theology in Tübingen at the Eberhard Karls University and at the Wilhelmsstift . At the Eberhard Karls University he successfully took part in various award tasks, was ordained a priest on September 17, 1828 and was then assigned to pastoral care for a year. Afterwards he became a repetitionist, professor and dean of the Catholic-Theological Faculty of Tübingen. In 1848 he was a member of the preliminary parliament .
One of his writings - “On the Consecration of Mixed Marriage” (750 copies) made him known throughout Germany: He was expelled from his position as rector of the university and became a country priest. From 1844 to 1850 and from 1862 to 1868 Mack held a mandate in the Second Chamber of the Württemberg estates as an elected member of the Riedlingen Upper Office.
Mack died in 1885 after many more years in pastoral care.
