Martin Kaltwasser
Martin Kaltwasser (* 1965 in Münster ) is a German artist . Since 2019 he has been a professor for the field of “plastics” at the TU Dortmund .
Life
From 1985 to 1988 studied cold-water fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg . In 1988 he moved to Berlin, where he studied architecture at the TU from 1989 and graduated with a diploma in 1997.
After several teaching positions at the University of Kassel , he was a visiting professor at the Art Center College of Design in California in 2009/10 with a grant from the Berlin Senate .

From approx. 2002 to 2015 Kaltwasser worked with the artist Folke Köbberling (* 1969) as the artist duo Köbberling & Kaltwasser. The concept artists mainly created installations and buildings in public spaces, often reusing waste and involving local residents. Her temporarily erected works included, among other things, the Jellyfish Theater in London from vegetable crates and plywood (2010), an outer roofing from plastic cups for a festival in Berlin of World Cultures House (2011) and an entrance portal for Bochum Jahrhunderthalle of bulky waste, Euro pallets and discarded set parts (2012).
