Martin Kessler (veterinarian)

Martin Kessler (* 1965 ) is a German veterinarian . He is a specialist in oncology in small animals and one of the founders and directors of the veterinary clinic in Hofheim am Taunus .

Life

Kessler studied veterinary medicine from 1985 to 1991 at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Ohio State University . After a small animal internship at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, he received his doctorate in 1993, his dissertation was accepted in Munich in 1994. From 1993 to 1997 he was a research assistant at the surgical veterinary clinic at LMU Munich. He has been a specialist veterinarian for small animals since 1996 .

In 1997 he and two other veterinarians founded the clinic for small animals in Hofheim near Frankfurt am Main. He is a partner and one of seven heads of the veterinary clinic. His field of work is medical and surgical oncology. Since 2008 he has been a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine - Companion Animals specializing in oncology. The specialist book on small animal oncology published by him is the "only oncological book in the German-speaking field of veterinary medicine" and is considered to be "one of the standard works for many small veterinarians".

He works as a part-time lecturer for clinical oncology in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Giessen and also teaches at the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) in Luxembourg .
