Martin Klöckener

Martin Klöckener (born October 13, 1955 in Neheim-Hüsten ) is a German professor of liturgical science and president of the department for practical theology at the University of Freiburg (Switzerland) .

biography

Klöckener studied Philosophy , Catholic Theology , Latin Studies and Education at the Theological Faculty in Paderborn as well as the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the University of Bielefeld . From 1979 to 1989 he was a research assistant at the Theological Faculty Paderborn (liturgical studies) and the University of Bielefeld (Latin studies). In 1985 he received his doctorate at the Paderborn Theological Faculty with a thesis on The Liturgy of the Diocesan Synod. Studies on the history and theology of the “Ordo ad Synodum” of the “Pontificale Romanum”.

From 1989 to 1994 Martin Klöckener was scientific advisor and library manager at the German Liturgical Institute in Trier . Since October 1st 1994 he has been a full professor and holder of the bilingual chair for liturgical science at the University of Freiburg / Friborg in Switzerland and since 1999 director of the Institute for liturgical science. From 2000 to 2004 Klöckener was President of the Department of Practical Theology, Senator since 2007 and Vice-President of the Senate of the University of Freiburg since 2012. From August 2008 to July 2010 he was Dean and from 2010 to 2012 Vice Dean of the Faculty of Theology. Since January 2013 he has again been President of the Department of Practical Theology at the University of Freiburg.
