Karl Martin Lönnebo

Karl Martin Lönnebo (born February 27, 1930 in Storkågeträsk , Sweden ) is a Swedish Lutheran theologian and clergyman (most recently Bishop of Linköping )

Lönnebo was from 1980 to 1995 Bishop of Linköping of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sweden . Before that he was a student pastor in Uppsala (from 1968) and Dompropst in Härnösand (from 1977). In 1964, with a dissertation on Albert Schweitzer, he obtained the degree of Dr. theol. In 1995 the University of Linköping awarded him an honorary doctorate .

In Germany Lönnebo is best known as the originator of the “ Pearls of Life ” prayer beads .
