Martin Laessig (* in the 19th century; † in the 20th century) was a German football player .

Career

Laessig belonged to VfB Leipzig , for which he played point games as a striker in the championships organized by the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs from 1905 to 1907 in Gau North West Saxony , the regional highest division.

During his club membership he won four regional titles with the team and was used a total of four times in the final round of the German championship in 1905 and 1906. He made his debut on April 22, 1906 in a 9-1 quarter-final victory over FC Norden-Nordwest Berlin, to which he contributed a goal with the goal of the final score in the 90th minute. He also played the semi-final, won 3-2, against the Berlin football club Hertha 1892 on May 6th and the final held in Nuremberg on May 27th. Thanks to his teammate Heinrich Riso , who scored the 2-1 winner in the 85th minute against 1. FC Pforzheim , he became German champions for the first time. He played his last final round game for the German championship on May 12, 1907 in the 2: 3 semi-final defeat against the eventual German champions Freiburg FC .

From 1907 to 1910 he was active for Hamburger FC 1888 , for which he played point games in the championships organized by the Hamburg-Altona Football Association in the regional top division, the A-class.

From July to September 1910 he was active for a short time for First Vienna FC before he returned to Hamburger FC 1888 and played for them until 1912.

Selection / national team

As a player in the national team of the North German Football Association , he took part in the competition for the Crown Prince's Cup. After victories in the quarter-finals and semi-finals , he won the final , held in Berlin on May 25, 1911 , against the selection team of the Association of South German Football Associations with 4: 2 n.V.
