Martin Lojek (born August 19, 1985 in Brno , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Oceláři Třinec in the Extraliga since 2008 .

Career

Martin Lojek began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of HC Pardubice , where he was active until 2002. He then played for three years for the Brampton Battalion from the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League . During this period he was selected in the fourth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft as the 105th player of the Florida Panthers . From 2005 to 2008, however, the defender was only on the ice in five games for the Panthers in the National Hockey League , while he spent the rest of the time with their farm teams Florida Everblades from the ECHL and Rochester Americans from the American Hockey League .

For the 2008/09 season Lojek returned to his Czech homeland, where he received a contract with HC Oceláři Třinec from the Extraliga . His first season after his return, he also ended as a loan player with his ex-club HC Pardubice. In the 2010/11 season he won the Czech championship title with HC Oceláři Třinec .

For the Czech Republic , Lojek took part in the junior division of the 2005 U20 World Junior Championship . In the senior sector he was in his country's squad for the Euro Hockey Tour in 2011 .
