Martin Maier-Bode (born November 12, 1966 in Düsseldorf ) is a German author , director and cabaret artist .

Life

Maier-Bode grew up in Neuss and founded the cabaret ensemble Exekution 27b with Martin Schorn in 1984. With several other artists from the independent scene in Neuss, he founded EigenART eV in 1987, from which the Theater am Schlachthof (TAS) emerged in 1994 . Maier-Bode was a founding member in 1995, a long-time ensemble member, author and director of STUNK in Neuss and Düsseldorf. From 1990 to 1994 he worked as a lecturer for cabaret at the Alte Post in Neuss. There he was fired because of a political uproar in connection with an appearance. In retrospect, he describes this event as a turning point in his career and a reason to look beyond the Neuss scene.

Afterwards Maier-Bode was, among other things, in-house author at the Düsseldorfer Kom (m) ödchen from 1996 to 2002 , headwriter for the German edition of Sesamstrasse and artistic director of Distel in Berlin from 2000 to 2002 (2009-2014). For television he has been chief author of the cabaret show Kanzleramt Pforte D with Lothar Bölck and Michael Frowin on MDR since 2010 .

Maier-Bode has been a member of the Kom (m) ödchen ensemble since October 2014 and, together with Christian Ehring and Dietmar Jacobs, forms the team of authors for the programs Deutschland gucken (2014) and Irgendwas mit Menschen (2017).

Maier-Bode is married, has five children and lives in Düsseldorf.
