Martin Modéus (born March 1, 1962 in Jönköping , Sweden ) is a Lutheran Swedish bishop . He heads the Linköping diocese .

Life

Modéus studied Lutheran theology and philosophy . The prästvigd for the Diocese of Växjö he received in 1986. In 2007, he was charged with a thesis on the exegesis of the Old Testament from the University of Lund for Doctor of theology doctorate .

Since March 6, 2011, he has succeeded Martin Lind as Bishop of Linköping. His episcopal motto is Levande tillsammans med Kristus ("Living together with Christ", according to Eph 2.5  LUT ).

His younger brother Fredrik Modéus has been Bishop of Växjö since 2015.
