Martin Peltasohn

Martin Peltasohn (born November 11, 1849 in Ostrowo , Province of Posen , † May 23, 1912 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer and politician . He was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives (1899-1910).

biography

Peltasohn was born to Jewish parents and attended high school in Ostrowo. After graduating from high school, he studied law in Breslau , where he became a member of the Arminia Breslau fraternity in 1867 . He took part in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71, became a trainee lawyer in 1872 , a court assessor in 1876 and a district judge in Grätz in 1877 . There he became a district judge in 1879 , then he moved to Bromberg in 1885 , where he became a district judge in 1890 and a regional judge in 1892. He was appointed to the Privy Council of Justice.

From 1899 to 1910 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency Bromberg 5 ( Mogilno , Wongrowitz , Znin ). There he belonged to the Liberal Association , later to the Progressive People's Party . In Bromberg he became a member of the Jewish Representative Assembly , of which he was chairman until 1905. In 1905 he went to Berlin and became a leading member of his parliamentary group.
