Martin Pfeiffer (journalist)

Martin Pfeiffer is a German journalist working in Austria . He is a member of several right-wing extremist associations and was editor-in-chief of the right-wing extremist magazine Die Aula from 2004 until she was hired in 2018 .

Life

Pfeiffer comes from Franconia and studied law . From 1999 he worked for the weekly newspaper for the moment by Andreas Mölzer in Vienna. In 2004 he moved to Graz for the magazine Die Aula . The exterior of the auditorium was modernized under his aegis . Since 2010 he has been chairman of the right-wing extremist society for free journalism and deputy chairman of the Kulturwerk Österreich , since 2012 chairman. According to the German Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the GfP is the "largest right-wing extremist cultural association in Germany" with close contacts to the German NPD . According toMirror is one of the main concerns of the association the deletion of § 130 of the Criminal Code ( sedition ) and the alleged distorted or incorrect presentation of history of National Socialism to correct. Pfeiffer is also chairman of the association “Culture and Contemporary History - Archive of Time e. V. ".

The documentation archive of the Austrian resistance states about Pfeiffer's work in the auditorium : “Under his aegis, a renewed increase in open racism , anti-Semitism , conspiracy theories , revanchism and misunderstanding of history has been evident in the auditorium for years .” According to Andreas Speit and Martin Langebach , Pfeiffer is one of them "The most important protagonists in the spectrum of the radical right" in Austria.

In 2014 he was invited as a lecturer to the foundation festival of the Munich fraternity Danubia . He was supposed to give a lecture on the subject of "Pro Patria - The Aula: Freedom of Journalism in Times of the Fight Against the Right", but shortly beforehand he was unloaded as too right. Danubia board member Maximilian Reingruber told the Süddeutsche Zeitung that they were not aware of Pfeiffer's role at GfP and that it was “a regrettable oversight”. The Greens in the Bavarian state parliament then made a request to the state government (CSU) on “Right-wing extremist tendencies in Bavarian fraternities” (January 22, 2016, document 17/9235).

After the auditorium was closed in summer 2018, Pfeiffer was the editor of the Neue Aula in October 2019 , of which only one edition appeared.

Pfeiffer is a fraternity member and was a member of the FPÖ until September 2019 . Today he lives in Graz .
