Martin Seidel
Martin Seidel (born September 16, 1898 in Neuhof on Usedom ; † May 2, 1945 in Bad Tölz ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ) and SA leader.
Live and act
After attending elementary school and middle school, Seidel volunteered when the First World War broke out in 1914 . After the end of the war, he fought with the Freikorps in Munich , Central Germany and Upper Silesia from 1919 to 1922 .
From 1922 to 1928 Seidel was active in the nationalist movement . After he became a member of the NSDAP in 1929, he took over duties as an official in this party. In the years 1929 to 1933 he held offices as local group, district and district leader as well as district inspector in the party.
On October 1, 1933, Seidel was appointed area inspector and representative of the party leadership. In 1934 he was appointed head of the office on the staff of the Führer’s deputy .
In September 1934, Seidel entered the National Socialist Reichstag as a representative of constituency 33 (Hesse) until the end of National Socialist rule in spring 1945 in the replacement procedure for Reichstag deputy August Schneidhuber, who was shot on June 30, 1934 during the Röhm affair . In 1936 he headed the Reichslager of the NSDAP.
After the outbreak of World War II he did military service. Between 1940 and 1942 Seidel was commissioner for the province of North Holland at the Reich Commissioner for the Occupied Dutch Territories. As an SA member, he achieved the rank of SA Oberführer.
Seidel poisoned himself and his family in his home in Bad Tölz in early May .
