Martin Skotnický
Martin Skotnický (born August 24, 1947 in Bratislava ) is a Slovak figure skating coach and former Czechoslovakian ice dancer .
Career
As an ice dancer, Skotnicky took part in world and European championships alongside his sister Diana Skotnická . The ice dancing couple achieved their best results in 1973 with eighth place at the world championships and sixth place at the European championships . In 1970 the ice dancers won gold at the Winter Universiade in Rovaniemi .
As a figure skating coach, he worked with numerous German athletes, such as:
- Nelli Schiganschina and Alexander Gazsi
- Kati Winkler and René Lohse
- Christina Beier and William Beier
- Petra Born and Rainer Schönborn
- Jennifer Goolsbee and Hendryk Schamberger
- Claudia Leistner
