Llo is a French commune with 172 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Pyrénées-Orientales department of the Occitania region ( Languedoc-Roussillon until 2015 ). It is part of the Prades arrondissement and the Pyrénées Cerdagne municipality . The municipality is part of the Pyrénées Catalanes Regional Natural Park .
geography
The northern Catalan municipality of Llo is located in the Pyrenees , 80 kilometers southwest of Perpugnsn and comprises the uppermost section of the Segretal and its mountain flanks. The Segre , the longest tributary of the Ebro , has its source in the south of the municipality of Llo and forms the Segr Gorge ( Gorges du Sègre ) over the first ten kilometers . The southeast border of the municipality - also the border between France and Spain - runs on the Pyrenees ridge . The highest point in the municipality is the summit Puigmal de Segre or Pic de Segre at 2840 m above sea level. Almost half of the 28.44 km² municipal area is forested ( Forêt communale de Llo , Bosc del Quer ). Llo is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Eyne in the northeast and east, Queralbs (Spain) in the south, Err in the southwest and Saillagouse in the west and northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure
Nine farms are located in the community (a winegrower, breeding horses, cattle, sheep and goats).
National road 116 runs from Perpignan to Puigcerdà in Spain two kilometers west of Llo . The train station in the neighboring municipality of Saillagouse is on the Ligne de Cerdagne narrow-gauge line .
