Martin Wolder Schrötteringk

Martin Wolder Schrötteringk (born August 28, 1728 in Hamburg ; † March 25, 1803 there ) was a German lawyer and Hamburg councilor .

Origin and family

Schrötteringk was a son of the lawyer of the same name Martin Wolder Schrötteringk (1687–1740) from his marriage to Gertrud Katharina Magdalena Rantzau. The Hamburg doctor Friedrich Ludwig Christian Cropp (1718–1796) was his brother-in-law.

In 1763 Schrötteringk married Anna Christina Sophie Strodt (1733–1814). His son Martin Hieronymus Schrötteringk (1768–1835) became Hamburg's mayor .

Live and act

After his school education at the scholarly school of the Johanneum in Hamburg, Schrötteringk studied law at the University of Leiden and received his doctorate there on September 9, 1754 as a licentiate in law.

After completing his studies, he worked as a lawyer in Hamburg and was elected councilor on December 5, 1774.
