Martin te Laak

Martin te Laak (* in the 20th century) is a church musician and choir director .

Martin te Laak studied church music at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf and choral conducting at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . He received a grant from the German Music Council and attended various master classes with Eric Ericson in Stockholm, among others . Te Laak completed his studies with the A-exam as church musician .

During his studies, Martin te Laak founded the Overbacher Singschule in Jülich in 1985 , with whose choirs he was awarded several prizes at the German Choir Competition and the State Choir Competitions Jugend singt . He directed the choirs until 2012. In 2012 he switched to the newly founded Jülich Vocalwerkstatt , for which he was artistic director until 2015. From 2012 to 2015 he also worked as a music teacher at the secondary school in Jülich.

Martin te Laak has been the choirmaster of the Aachen Chamber Choir since 1996 . In addition, te Laak is the state choir director of the young singers in the North Rhine-Westphalia Choir Association , choir director in the Leverkusen children and youth choir, and he is also active in the training of choir directors for the State Music Academy in North Rhine-Westphalia .
