Martuni ( Armenian Մարտունի , Russian Мартунин , also Martouni ) is a province of the internationally unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh , the capital is Martuni . The province was merged with Hadrut province to form Xocavənd district by the Azerbaijani parliament in 1991 as part of the official dissolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic , but this was not implemented due to the conflict. After the Armenian army occupied the surrounding areas in 1993, the province also administered parts of the Azerbaijani districts of Füzuli and Ağdam .

The province has an area of ​​951.2 square kilometers and according to the Nagorno-Karabakh census of 2005 23,157 inhabitants at 24.35 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the province there are a city, a larger town and 34 municipalities.
