Martyn Lucking
Martyn Lucking ( Martyn Taylor Lucking; born March 24, 1938 in Leigh-on-Sea , Southend-on-Sea ) is a former British shot putter .
In 1958 he won silver starting for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff ; at the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm he came in 14th place. He finished eighth at the 1960 Olympic Games .
In 1962 he was ninth at the European Championships in Belgrade . At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth , he won the shot put and was eleventh in the discus throw .
In 1964 he was eliminated in the shot put at the Tokyo Olympics in qualifying, in 1970 he was seventh in the same discipline at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh .
In 1962 he became English indoor champion.
