The Marujupu Peak is a prominent and 497 m high nunatak in the Ford Ranges in the West Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land , which lies above the main stream of the Ochs Glacier between Mount Iphigene and Mount Ferranto .
He was discovered during an overflight on December 5, 1929 as part of the first Antarctic expedition (1928–1930) under the direction of the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd . "Marujupu" is an acronym from Marian (* 1919), Ruth (* 1921), Judy (* 1924) and "Punch". The former are the first names of the three daughters of Arthur Hays Sulzberger (1891–1968), a sponsor of the expedition. “Punch” was the nickname of Sulzberger's son Arthur Ochs Sulzberger (1926–2012).
