Marvin Ogunsipe (born February 26, 1996 in Vienna ) is an Austrian - German basketball player who is under contract with the German Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich and plays on loan at Hamburg Towers .
career

Ogunsipe, the son of an Austrian mother and a Nigerian father, played for the Vienna DC Timberwolves in his hometown of Vienna. He came to work in the second Bundesliga team of the club. He came to Germany in 2014 as part of a cooperation between his parent club and FC Bayern Munich . He was used by the Munich team in the youth basketball league and in the second men's team. With the latter he became champion of the 1st Regionalliga Süd-Ost in 2016 and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . He made his debut in the basketball Bundesliga for FCB in February 2017 against Alba Berlin . In September 2018 he took German citizenship and kept Austrian. In 2018 and 2019 he became German champions with FC Bayern. In 2017/18 his playing time in the Bundesliga was around two minutes per game, in 2018/19 he was on the field for an average of just under seven minutes per match.
For the 2019/20 season, Ogunsipe moved on loan to the newly promoted Bundesliga club Hamburg Towers . In May 2020 he joined the Crailsheim Merlins in order to take part with the Hohenlohern in the season final tournament of the Bundesliga, where the German championship was played after the interruption due to the coronavirus pandemic . Then he went back to Hamburg as a loan player.
National team
Ogunsipe was an Austrian team player in the U16, U18 and U20 and took part in B-European championships in all these age groups. In 2015 he was appointed to the senior national team for the first time.
