Marvin Wijks (born May 11, 1984 in Paramaribo , Suriname ) is a Dutch football player . The striker is under contract with VVSB Noordwijkerhout in summer 2017 .

Career

Wijks played at Sparta Rotterdam when he was young . He also made his professional debut at Sparta in the Eredivisie game against ADO Den Haag on December 4, 2005. This was his only professional game for Sparta Rotterdam before he moved to HFC Haarlem in the Eerste Divisie , the second highest division in the Netherlands . He scored his first goal for Haarlem on September 29, 2006 against AGOVV Apeldoorn .

On May 30, 2009, Wijks' contract was extended for two more years to 2011. In February 2010, however, the HFC Haarlem went bankrupt, so that the striker was without a club until the summer break.

In the summer of 2010 he signed a two-year contract with the regional league club 1. FC Magdeburg, who were trained by Ruud Kaiser from the Netherlands . After the end of the 2010/2011 season, however, Wijks was informed that the club was no longer planning with him. Therefore, the contract was terminated early in August 2011.

At the end of August, Wijks signed a contract with Regionalliga promoted VfB Germania Halberstadt .

Wijks has been back in the Netherlands since the 2012/13 season. First he played for the second division club FC Emmen, where he was able to assert himself as a regular player. Nevertheless, he moved to the 4th Dutch division to the Rijnsburgse Boys in summer 2013, where he was under contract for a total of 4 years before moving to VVSB in the third division in 2017.
