Career
As a player
Ruud Kaiser played in his 14-year professional career as a striker for Ajax Amsterdam , where he was Dutch champion and cup winner , Royal Antwerp , Coventry City , OGC Nice and FC Den Bosch .
As a trainer
After the end of his playing career, he began a coaching career. His first position was the Dutch second division team TOP Oss , where Kaiser was a member of the coaching staff from 1991 to 1997 and was responsible for the sporting development of the club. From 1997 to 1999 the Dutchman coached the club RBC Roosendaal .
From 1999 Ruud Kaiser worked in the youth division of the Dutch Football Association. Between 1999 and 2001 he was assistant coach of the U-23 national team, with whom he narrowly failed in qualifying for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney . From 2001 to 2005 Kaiser coached the Dutch U-17 team and worked with players like Rafael van der Vaart , Robin van Persie , Nigel de Jong , Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder . In 2005 he led this team to the European runner-up and third place in the World Cup . At the same time, he was in charge of junior scouting for the Dutch association, for which he developed an international scouting system.

On April 16, 2010 Kaiser signed with 1. FC Magdeburg as head coach for the 2010/11 season. The 2010/11 season should serve to rebuild the team. After persistent unsuccessfulness, Ruud Kaiser was given leave of absence as coach of 1. FC Magdeburg in March 2011.
From July 1, 2013 to February 2015, he was head coach at FC Den Bosch .
