Mary Douglas Glasspool (born February 23, 1954 in Staten Island , New York City ) is an American auxiliary bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America .

Life

After finishing school, Glasspool studied Anglican theology . In March 1982 Glasspool was ordained a priestess of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America. She then assisted at St Paul's Church in Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia . From 1984 to 1992 she was the rector of St Luke's & St Margaret's Church in Boston and then from 1992 to 2001 at St Margaret's Episcopal Church in Annapolis , Maryland . From 2001 she served as a Canon for the Bishops of Maryland . As Suffraganbischöfin the Diocese of Los Angeles , she was elected on 4 December 2009 and 15 May 2010 consecrated . Since 2016 she has been working in the same position in the Episcopal Diocese of New York .

Glasspool has lived with her partner since 1988.
