Mary Mattingly

Mary Mattingly (born September 8, 1979 in Rockville , Connecticut ) is an American artist who works with installation , performance and photography . She lives and works in New York .

life and work

Mattingly received a scholarship from Yale University School of Art in Norfolk, Connecticut (2001), studied at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon and the Parsons School of Design in New York, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) obtained (2002). She received another scholarship to the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Madison, Maine.

Mary Mattingly creates sculptural ecosystems in public spaces. She explores topics such as home, travel, cartography and the human relationship with one another, the environment, the machine, society and politics.
