Mary Wortley-Montagu, 1st Baroness Mount Stuart (born February 1718 in Pera (Turkey), † November 6, 1794 in Isleworth , London) was a British noblewoman.

She was the only daughter of Edward Wortley-Montagu and Mary Wortley Montagu , the eldest daughter of Evelyn Pierrepont, 1st Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull . She was born in Constantinople when her father was the British ambassador there. On August 13, 1736, she married John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute , who would later become Prime Minister of Britain . Her wedding gave her the courtesy title of Countess of Bute . With special consideration of her male offspring, she was raised to Baroness Mount Stuart , of Wortley in the County of York , on April 3, 1761 .

She was buried in Wortley , Yorkshire .

She had the following children with her husband John Stuart:

After her death, her eldest son John inherited her title of nobility, while according to her father's will, her second eldest son James inherited his estates and fortunes.
