Maryse Éwanjé-Épée (married Maury ; born September 4, 1964 in Poitiers ) is a former French high jumper . After her active career, the multiple French champion and Olympian took up a job as a sports journalist. Her younger sister Monique Éwanjé-Épée became the 1990 European champion in the 100-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Éwanjé-Épée was French outdoor champion eight times (1982-1985, 1988, 1993 and 1995-1996) and seven times indoor (1982-1984, 1986, 1989-1990 and 1994). Her greatest international successes include her three medals at European Indoor Championships (silver in 1984 in Gothenburg behind the Olympic champion Ulrike Meyfarth and bronze in 1983 in Budapest and 1989 in The Hague). She also took part in the Olympic Games twice. She was fourth in Los Angeles in 1984 and tenth in Seoul in 1988.

Journalistic career

After the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Éwanjé-Épée began studying journalism at the University of Arizona . She has been with Canal + since 1996 . She also worked as a co-commentator at Eurosport and as a presenter at RMC .
