career

Becker broke off his studies after three semesters and began an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk at the Hamburg publisher Gruner + Jahr . "Since Easter always had problems getting the duty roster full, our bosses quickly agreed," Becker looked back on later. This year-on-year program became a trademark of the station and in later years drew more than 30,000 viewers at the closing events. In the early years, Becker moderated the program called “Easter Hit Marathon” with Heller, and later led the show with other moderators. Becker last worked as a moderator for the Top 811 in 2000. In the early 1990s, Markus Lanz was one of Becker's work colleagues at Radio Hamburg.

In the meantime, Becker worked for the television station Hamburg 1 as well as the radio station Radio Magic FM. In 1999 he returned to Radio Hamburg and took up the position of program director there in January 2001 . In September 2005 he also became managing director of the station. From 2009 he presented with Heller on the radio station Oldie 95 and on the TV station Hamburg 1 the music show Beckerundheller .
