Masakatsu Asari ( Japanese 浅 利 正 勝 , Asari Masakatsu ; * July 31, 1945 ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

Career

Asari made his international debut as part of the Japanese team at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . When jumping from the normal hill he reached the 47th place. Almost two years later he started at the Four Hills Tournament 1969/70 . Asari achieved 18th place straight away in Oberstdorf . After finishing 35th in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and 25th in Innsbruck, he was finally 10th in Bischofshofen . He finished his first and most successful tour with 834.1 points as 17th in the overall ranking.

In the following two years he paused from the tour and only started again for the Four Hills Tournament 1972/73 . However, he did not get any placements like 1969/70, so that in the end he was only able to achieve 69th place overall. Even on his last Four Hills Tournament in 1973/74 , he could no longer convince. After the 36th place in Innsbruck was his best placement, he was in the end with 769.9 points only 44th in the tour's overall ranking.
