Mase (rapper)
Mase (seldom Ma $ e ; real name Mason Betha ; born August 27, 1977 in Jacksonville , Florida , USA ) is an American rapper .
Life
After childhood in a sheltered home and high school, he primarily wanted to devote himself to his music. He took the chance at a hip-hop club in Atlanta, where he showed P. Diddy a test of his skills. He immediately signed him for his Bad Boy Entertainment label . After some collaborations with established artists (e.g. The Notorious BIG , P. Diddy and Brandy ) BadBoyEntertainment launched his debut album Harlem World in 1997 . On this long player u. a. Artists like DMX and Jay-Z . The album went quadruple platinum. The album Double Up followed in 1999 , on which, like its predecessor, various other artists had guest appearances.
Then Mase withdrew surprisingly for the public and founded his own church as Mason Betha. For his commitment he was awarded an honorary doctorate in theology. In 2004 he came back with the album Welcome Back .
