Massimo Filardi (born December 20, 1966 in Salerno , Italy ) is a former Italian football player .

Player career

Filardi began his career with his youth club AS Varese in 1910 and made his professional debut there in the 1984/1985 season. However, this season rose from Serie B to Serie C and Filardi therefore left the club and moved to the neighboring SSC Napoli . For Napoli he made his Serie A debut on September 8, 1985 in a 2-1 win over Como Calcio . In the following season, when Napoli won the double, he was not used because he was stopped by an injury. After recovering from his injury, he continued to play for Naples before being loaned to the second division US Avellino in the 1989/1990 season, where he met his old teammates Costanzo Celestini , Moreno Ferrario , Francesco Baiano and Giuseppe Taglialatela . After a season in Avellino he was loaned to AS Taranto Calcio , who also played in Serie B, and where he scored his only goal. He then returned to Napoli and played five more games for the club before deciding to retire. After a two-year break, he played again for Benevento Calcio in the C2 series in 1994 and then stopped for good.
