Massimo Grillandi

Massimo Grillandi (born August 6, 1921 in Forlì , Kingdom of Italy , † January 3, 1987 in Rome ) was an Italian author , journalist , poet and literary translator of the 20th century.

Life

Grillandi was a passionate Roman and devoted himself to historical research after completing his training. His representations combined history with his storytelling through his scientific knowledge. He became known through numerous biographies, some of which were translated into German.

Grillandi died in Rome of a heart attack on January 3, 1987.

  • 1961: Premio LericiPea for his retelling of poems by the French Stéphane Mallarmé .
  • 1966: Shortlist together with Italo Calvino for the Premio Strega for the novel La casa die Faenza .
  • 1976: Premio Leonilde Luigi Settembrini for the story La muraglia Alidosia .
  • 1978: Premio Bancarella for the biography La contessa di Castiglione .
  • 1981: Premio Il Fiore
  • 1981: Premio San Gerolamo for its literary translations.
