Massimo Spinetti

Massimo Spinetti (* 26. September 1943 in Veroli ) is an Italian diplomat in retirement .

Career

In 1967 he joined the foreign service. Spinetti was employed in Lagos , Stockholm and Canberra . From 1983 to 1987 he had exequatur as consul general in Hanover . From 1987 he headed the Department of Cultural Institutes and Fine Arts and was subsequently appointed Deputy Head of the Department of Culture in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From November 1995 to July 1999 he was Ambassador to Ljubljana and from July 1999 to 2002 Ambassador to Panama City . From 2002 to 2007 he was Deputy Inspector General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From April 28, 2007 to July 15, 2010 he was ambassador in Vienna . In 2010 he was retired .

Following his diplomatic service, he conducted studies in diplomatic history. His studies focused on Klemens Wenzel Lothar von Metternich and Costantino Nigra . On the one hand, he traditionally published the results of his research in lectures and articles.

On the other hand, he is the author of a musical based on the life of Pauline von Metternich and based on the diary of Jean-Gabriel Eynard (1775 in Lyon – 1863), Geneva banker, philhellene and photographer during the Congress of Vienna , he designed a concert presentation with piano ( Bänkelsang ). He is chairman of Cassa Mutua Renato & Pasquale Prunas, a solidarity and prevention association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy) .
