Massimo Strazzer

Massimo Strazzer (born August 17, 1969 in Zevio ) is a former Italian cyclist .

Career

Strazzer rode his bike for the first time when he was 5 years old. At the age of 6, he started racing. He turned professional in 1991 with the Jolly Componibili Club team . In his second year as a professional he was able to celebrate a stage win at the Settimana Siciliana . Between 1992 and 2002 he took part in the Giro d'Italia eight times . His best of five final placements was recorded in 1998. At the Giro he also had his greatest success, the victory in the points classification in 2001 . In 2002 he came second in this ranking, but won the Intergiro ranking . He also started in the Tour of Spain in 1994 and the Tour de France in 1997 , although he did not finish either of the two tours . After the 2004 season, he ended his 14-year professional career.

On November 2, 2001, Strazzer tested positive for EPO during the Track Cycling World Championships in Antwerp . But since the B-sample showed a value below the limit value, he was acquitted.
