Matěj Krsek (born May 13, 2000 ) is a Czech sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Matěj Krsek gained his first experience in international championships at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) 2015 in Tbilisi , where he won the silver medal in the 200-meter run in 21.90 seconds. In the following year, he finished seventh in 21.69 seconds at the European Youth Championships, which were held there for the first time . In 2018 he reached the semi-finals at the U20 World Championships in Tampere over 400 meters and was eliminated there with 46.59 s, while he finished fifth in the Czech 4 x 100 meter relay in 39.75 s. The following year he was fourth in the U20 European Championships in Borås, Sweden, in 46.37 s and was disqualified with the 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run, but won with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 08.50 min the silver medal.

In 2020 Krsek became the Czech champion in the 400-meter run.
