Mateo Mužek (born April 29, 1995 in Graz ) is a Croatian football player who is under contract with Sheriff Tiraspol .

Career

Mateo Mužek played for NK Kustosija and NK Hrvatski dragovoljac in his youth . For Hrvatski he made his debut in the 2012/13 season in the second highest Croatian league against NK Naftaš HAŠK Zagreb . The club rose at the end of the season as champions in the first division. Mužek was awarded after promotion for the following season within the city of Zagreb to the second division club NK Lučko . After the loan expired, he joined HNK Gorica . A year later followed a move to Slovenia to the first division club NK Zavrč . With the club he escaped relegation in the 2015/16 season against NK Aluminij . After this season, Mužek changed his club again and signed with NK Rudar Velenje . There he was consequently an absolute regular player. In July 2017, the defender moved to Azerbaijan for Neftçi Baku . There it was only used twice. He then moved to Shakhtar Qaraghandy in Kazakhstan in February 2018 . After the 2018 season ended, he signed a six-month contract with the Scottish first division club FC St. Mirren . Then he moved to Sheriff Tiraspol .

National team

Mateo Mužek played for Croatia between 2013 and 2015. He made his debut in the U-19 against the Czech Republic on April 30, 2013. He was also active in the U-20 and U-21 .
